SINOPSIS

Cambio climático, terrorismo y crisis humanitaria  a las orillas del cada vez más mermado Lago Chad.

Debido al calentamiento global, el lago ha visto reducido su tamaño en un 90% desde 1970. Esta desaparición del lago se refleja proporcionalmente con la creación de campos de refugiados, en constante tensión y conflicto, y más adelante con las insurrecciones de Boko Haram. La película evoca la riqueza cultural y natural del lago través de las voces de las víctimas del desastre medioambiental, como si de los versos de T.S.Eliot en «La Tierra Baldía» se tratara.

Climate change, terrorism and humanitarian crisis on the shores of the disappearing Lake chad.

Due entirely to clime change, Lake Chad reduced its size by 90% since the ‘70s. This emptying of the Lake is reflected on the filling of refugees camps, on the increasing conflicts and, lately, on the insurgence of Boko Haram. The film evokes the cultural and natural richness of the Lake through the voices of the victims of this envirionmental disaster, following the verses of T.S.Eliot’s “The Waste Land”.
